Sea Level Rise surrounds us

The Shoreline is on the brink

The Coast is Toast

But not for the reasons you think

Earth's Shoreline, as we know it, is history.

The images of beautiful beaches, glistening in your mind’s eye, will soon be inundated by Sea Level Rise, or dredged into oblivion in a futile attempt to hold back the Sea.

Either way, awash under two feet of Sea Level Rise, or dredged and mounded for protection, Earth’s pristine, sandy beaches will not survive the onslaught.

For all intents and purposes, this is a life changing event for every Human on Earth.

We flock to The Shoreline like moths to a flame.

One of the biggest issues in the Sea Level Rise Crisis is, we have jammed ourselves up tight against every coastline available.

We love our H2O.

Earth’s Ocean, Big H2O, is showing signs of impending changes.

These changes are going to alter our existence in real time...less than a generation.

How big is Big H2O?

Of all the H2O on Planet Earth, 2% is fresh water, and only 2% of that is liquid.

Every other drop is Earth's Ocean, and ice.

Big H2O is really big, and getting bigger by the minute.

Most news reports focus on the idea that melting ice will overflow Earth's Ocean.

That's only part of the equation.

Big H2O is getting bigger because it is getting warmer.

As anything gets warmer, it loses density and expands.

Earth's Ocean is getting larger because the H2O is getting warmer, losing density, and expanding.

Gravity exerts less force on the H2O as its mass expands and becomes less dense.

Earth's Ocean expands upward and outward like anything else undergoing these forces.

That's the issue.

We do not have time to argue about who's fault it is.

It is happening all around us, while we dither and fret.

This is about us, how we deal with change, how frightened we are, and does anyone really care?

Here's The Story...

Ironically, Sea Level Rise is all about The Shoreline.

The lay of the land will determine how Sea Level affects us in The Future.

A 20' rise in the middle of The Ocean means nothing.

2' at The Shoreline presents a serious challenge.  

My interests have always been focused along The Shoreline.

The Shoreline is in trouble.

I gotta try to help.

It was meant to be.

I've spent most of my life pursuing the perfect venture.

There have been a lot of fascinating occupations along the way.

I've reached the pinnacle in a number of my endeavors, but none of them held my interest and enthusiasm enough to become the be all and end all.

None of them ever quite had it.

Then, suddenly, from out of the clear blue sky, it appeared.

As in, Eureka, this is it!

Naturally!

It was right in front of my eyes the whole time.

Sea Level Rise threatens Earth's Shoreline.

I gotta do something about this before the damage is done.

Earth's Shoreline is my baby.

For as long as I can recall, as far back as 1950, I have loved The Beach.

Lynn, Mass, USA, my home town, has a beautiful beach.

This view has inspired me since day one.

Here's a piece from several years ago.

It really is fun, just enjoyin' the day "Down the Beach". 

That's where you'll find me, at every opportunity. 

  

I love this place. 

  

The 'ever shifting sand' nature of the beach is an elixir. 

The shoreline and the sand change constantly. 

  

One can walk the beach daily, and never repeat the same scenery. 

In fact, if one walks the full length of the beach, the scenery will have changed for the return trip. 

Look up at the sky. 

Changes will be happening before your very eyes. 

Look down at the oceans edge. 

The tide will bring all manner of seaborne objects to your feet. 

Not everything that floats in is pretty, but that's life! 

These changes refresh the spirit. 

Life, itself, is taking place all around. 

Here, "Down the Beach", life takes place with a greater sense of joy. 

Each breath renews and replenishes. 

The oxygen enriched air is a natural elixir. 

A sense of well being exists. 

How could anyone not love this shore? 

Standing at the water's edge, squinting into the sun, envisioning that beyond the horizon, sent me far and wide. 

All the way out, all the way in, and back around again.

The idea is pretty simple.

I'm trying to get people to care about and pay attention to Sea Level Rise because of the long term negative effect on Earth's Shoreline.

My connection to Earth's Shoreline has remained strong throughout my life.

One of my long time occupations has been working as a wooden boat carpenter along Boston's North Shore.

Spending day after glorious day in the great outdoors, alongside Earth's Ocean, doing the work I love.

Believe me, ya definitely don't do it for the money.

Like I said, the pinnacle, livin' the dream for decades.

But now, the wolf is at the door.

It's time to shift gears and throw everything into dealing with Sea Level Rise.

Immediately!

We need to quickly elevate our understanding of Sea Level and it's potential ramifications, before we panic and screw things up forever.

That lifetime of searching I mentioned earlier really did come full circle.

I'm right back where I started from, with a purpose.

The timing could not be more perfect.

Shoreline Earth will generate more $$$ for Lynn than all the other waterfront projects and proposals put together, in 5 years, or less.

We're light years ahead of the crowd on this one, Folks.

Sea Level Rise has implications light years beyond our immediate grasp.

No matter how much scientific evidence is presented, this will continue to be 'learn as it happens'.

Sea Level Rise is a real time, Earth changing event.

These changes have been happening since before time.

You should learn as much as possible about it.

How can I get anyone interested in something that might happen 50 or 100 years from now?

Today's lifestyle doesn't leave time for what's going to happen five minutes from now.

Slack off for one second and someone will get ahead.

There's just no time for long range speculation, even when you know it's good for you.

How about if I tell you that you are already paying for it, and the price is going up by the day.

In fact, your children, and your children's children will still be paying for it, with ever increasing prices.

What is it?

it is the threat of Sea Level Rise.

Forget the cute apps showing a flooded world.

We don't need Biblical inundation to mess up the works.

If The Ocean rises two feet, The Shoreline will be overwhelmed.

That may happen by the end of this century, depending on so many factors that it is impossible to project a definitive measurement.

But, science indicates that two feet by 2100 is a realistic expectation.

Two feet of water on top of current high tide will flood commercial ports everywhere on Earth.

Docks will be under water.

Ships will not be able to load or unload.

Cranes, trucks, and people don't function under water.

These are some of the reasons we must pay attention to Sea Level Rise.

Governments and Industry are planning for the worst case scenario.

We are going to pay for the decisions made by Governments and Industry...right or wrong.

So far, Sea Level Rise has been a confusing jumble of conflicting information.

It's part of Climate Change.

What else would you expect?

Half the people on Earth are instant deniers, "There's no such thing."

Half of the other half have serious doubts.

Most of the rest are journalists parroting the half-baked opinions of the deniers and doubters.

That may be a slight exaggeration, but you get the point.

This situation is a mess before it even happens, exacerbated by shabby journalism and preconceived notions based upon earlier shabby journalism.

That said.

Below you will find a realistic look at Sea Level Rise with proposed solutions.

The deniers, doubters, and journalists have muddied the waters, so to speak.

But, this is The Ocean we're looking at.

The changing tide will clear things up if we step back and look at what's happening all around us.

Sea Level Rise...Unprecedented In Human History...

The Geologic Record shows Sea Levels have been much higher and much lower than they are today.

But not since we've been around to notice.

The idea of preparing for rising Seas has never even been on our radar.

Suddenly, here we sit, facing a catastrophic Global potentiality, with no "Lessons of History" to guide us.

That is unprecedented.

What we do today, the decisions we make, and the actions we take are The History of Sea Level Rise in the making.

It is happening all around us right now...literally, all around us.

A decade, or so, ago, Earth Scientists began publishing their findings on Sea Level Rise.

Satellite data was pouring in and being analyzed for the first time ever, giving the scientists tons of new info to present in their 'publish or perish' world.

Their work was peer reviewed.

One or two pieces were selected for journals like Scientific American or Science.

Nobody but the scientists really cared.

Five years ago, the mainstream media started taking notice.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands of journalists had their first ever thought on the topic of Sea Level Rise one moment and were writing outlook defining stories the next.

Early stories featured the typical doom and gloom, worst case scenario tone.

Writers focused on the biggest numbers and the most terrifying outcomes, ignoring the balanced science.

Editors know what sells.

Follow up stories simply parroted the earlier attitude.

Bombast on top of bombast led to our current level of awareness.

Soon, according to the mainstream media, we face inundation on a Biblical scale, with six feet of water running through the streets of every coastal city on Earth.

There's even an App that shows 'Your Town' under six feet of Ocean.

Not gonna happen, but it's now part of The History of Sea Level Rise.

Our collective consciousness has been tainted with gibberish before the real story ever sees the light of day, making it harder than necessary to move forward.

The next phase will be decided by us.

Well informed, uninformed, under informed, or intentionally misinformed, it's all on us to write The History of Sea Level Rise.

Sea Level Rise will prove the ultimate test of our Self-Anointed Superior Intellect.
