TISLEF...

The Infinitely Sustainable Lynn Electric Ferry…

Tidal energy surrounds us.

Earth’s Ocean is the most powerful force on The Planet.

Yet, even in the face of steadily dwindling resources, we have not developed an economically feasible way to use this awesome natural power.

There are Tidal Generators installed around the world.

They work.

But, these pioneering projects have not shown enough promise to stimulate a Global effort.

The numbers do not crunch.

The cost of designing, installing, and operating Tidal Generators remains extremely high because each situation requires a specific plan.

There are no plug and play Tidal Generators on the market.

Yet.

TISLEF will open doors and stimulate innovation in Tidal Energy while revolutionizing passenger ferry service everywhere on Earth.

Here’s how.

The City of Lynn Massachusetts USA has begun an experimental commuter ferry service to Boston as part of a crucial Waterfront Development project.

This two year test, funded by the State of Massachusetts in hope of boosting the local economy, will determine the success or failure of numerous other local projects.

The ferry is a key to the entire plan.

Ridership has been encouraging, but not enough to operate without continuing subsidies.

Unless there is  a sudden spike in public interest, the State funding will expire.

Lynn has a lot of eggs in this one basket.

The ferry is a large part of the overall Waterfront Development plan.

The ferry’s subsidized two year test run will end this fall.

Lynn will be left with a nice new ferry terminal but no ferry.

NOTE...as of this date...June 6 2016...the ferry is in limbo...June 7...declared dead by Gov. Baker...

Unless we come up with a solution.

TISLEF is that solution.

Let’s go back to the Tidal Energy idea.

Here’s my suggestion…

I mentioned earlier that we need a plug and play generator to get Tidal Generation rolling.

Siemens ( the energy company ) has recently developed a battery powered electric car ferry in Sweden.

They have shown that it can be done.

But, the recharging system is an enormous drain on the region’s electrical grid.

Tidal Power is the solution.

The Siemens ferry, Norled Ampere, is a large vessel, requiring batteries with hundreds of kWh to operate and recharge.

That brings the specialized installation factor into play.

Setting up a Tidal Generator capable of charging these batteries makes it cost prohibitive.

TISLEF is much smaller, designed as a 150 passenger ferry.

The 5 Mw Shoreline Earth Tidal Unit will can provide the necessary KWh to recharge a vessel of this size for short commuter runs, with plenty of power to spare.

The excess juice can be sold to National Grid for even bigger savings.

Lynn could lead the world in developing this concept.

The ferry can be refitted, electrically powered, recharged via Tidal Power, and in operation within a year or two.

This will make TISLEF economically practical, and open the way for an entire new industry based right here in Lynn.

There are dozens of local ferries that can be adapted, and there are thousands more around the Globe.

All would be more efficient, environmentally friendly, and profits would increase across the board.

Sounds like a dream scenario waiting to happen, don’tcha think…?

All that’s needed is local support to get this rolling.

The idea is so beneficial to so many that a simple statement saying Lynn is working to make this happen will result in a torrent of Global interest.

That’s what we need the most.

Positive press.

The world will come to us.

Announce it and they will come!

Change...

Change is coming.

Sea Level Rise, and ensuing events will present a challenge to every person on Earth.

You can be as far from any Seacoast as it is possible to get, and Sea Level Rise is already affecting your life.

Even the remotest off-grid community is likely to own a generator made overseas and shipped to the closest port.

The generator uses fuel that arrived via oceangoing tanker.

The flow of goods from port to port around The Globe is what makes today's economy tick.

The ports where these products begin and end their Oceangoing voyage are threatened by Sea Level Rise.

NASA has more data on Sea Level Rise than anyone else

They believe, and are preparing to buttress or move Cape Canaveral launch pads in anticipation.

NASA is responding to the threat.

The threat alone is costing billions.

The public is already paying for this.

The actuality is unfathomable.

Like it or not, whatever the total comes to, the public will eventually absorb that as well.

Otherwise, Humans will revert to pre-industrial age clans in a matter of decades.

This is likely sooner rather than later, I might add.

Heads up!

The Infinitely Sustainable Lynn Electric Ferry...

This is coming to you from Lynn Mass USA, home of "The Electric Harbor".

Let's start off by considering Sea Level Rise, its effect on Lynn Harbor, and our response to impending change.

We’re not going to waste time speculating about how big The Ocean is going to get, how fast it will rise, or who’s at fault.

That’s for the Politicians and Pundits.

After a decade of intense research and regular communication with the top scientists in the field, I know as much about Sea Level Rise as anyone alive.

Here’s what I’m sure of.

The scientific knowledge base updates and expands every day.

So much is being learned that nobody can keep up with everything.

At this point in time, there is zero degree of certainty about what’s coming.

The top scientists have 180 degree differences of opinion.

In this world of uncertainty, one fact is certain.

Earth’s Ocean is warming, and expanding as it warms.

Everything expands as it warms.

It’s an irrefutable Law of Nature.

As a result, tides are getting more powerful.

This expanded surge will push ever further onshore as The Ocean warms and deepens.

Picture the worst images from hurricane Sandy.

Imagine if The Ocean were 2 feet deeper during that storm.

The tidal surge from Sandy would have backed up rivers and streams in New Jersey and flooded communities twenty miles inland.

The warming, expanding Ocean is going to carry major coastal storms further North along the US East Coast than ever before in Human history.

This will occur on a regular basis within decades.

Long Island Sound will become the new Cape Hatteras, absorbing the brunt of every Atlantic hurricane.

That’s if the Ocean continues to warm at its present rate, and Sea Level rises only 2 feet.

I said no speculation about Sea Level Rise.

But, my knowledge tells me the above scenario is very likely within 50 years.

Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Manhattan will be inundated on a regular basis.

However, that remains a maybe, and it’s a half century in the future.

This is about NOW.

How can we prepare?

What are we going to do in response?

We cannot stop this.

It’s The Ocean.

Are we going to turn Planet Earth into The Netherlands?

I doubt that.

Let’s put the relentless power of the rising tide to work for us.

I see the newly expanding Ocean as a vast, untapped natural resource.

Tidal Energy is on the upswing at a time when every other resource is dwindling.

Tidal generators are in use all around the world.

Most are still subsidized, hoping for positive results.

Even more remain on the drawing boards.

This industry is developing slowly because there is still no efficient way to deliver the power generated by an undersea turbine to the grid.

In Lynn, we have a National Grid distribution center right on The Harbor.

The tide fills and empties Lynn Harbor twice each day with plenty of power to drive an undersea generator.

Thanks to Yours Truly, the next big thing in Tidal Generation is going to be battery powered electric ferries recharged via Tidal Turbine.

I’ve worked to promote this tidal powered electric ferry concept for several years because of Lynn’s specific needs and the rare situation of having everything in place to generate and fully utilize Tidal Electric.

In recent months Siemens has launched an electric ferry in Sweden called the Norled Ampere.

It’s much bigger than needed for the Lynn ferry, and draws its power from the regions electrical grid, not an undersea turbine.

But the propulsion system is there.

By downsizing and adapting Siemens electric motor for the smaller ferry, and re-powering directly at the dock, using electricity provided by the undersea turbine, TISLEF becomes reality.

After the cost of development and installation, this system is infinitely sustainable with only the ongoing expense of operation, upgrades, and regular maintenance.

The ferry has no enormous fuel costs or toxic emissions, from the power source right through to the vessel itself.

That’s clean energy at work.

Lynn is currently working with the State of Massachusetts to develop a commuter ferry from Lynn to Boston.

The service is approaching the end of its two year trial run.

UPDATE...the ferry service has ended as of today...9.25.15...with no immediate plan for restart...

I have been in contact with the top people in the Tidal Energy field about this idea, including Siemens RE Norled Ampere.

Their people directed me to others and as you are reading, the Lynn Harbor concept is spreading throughout the Tidal Energy industry.

They are excited about the opportunity available here in Lynn.

They recognize a solution that fits the problem and are ready to participate.

This ferry project is a key to Lynn’s revitalized economy.

It’s a great idea, but the project needs a boost if it is to continue operating.

There are undersea turbines in use today capable of powering a battery operated commuter ferry from Lynn Harbor to Boston.

I have everything in place to bring this to Lynn.

The instant a project of this nature is announced, there will be spontaneous Global interest in The City of Lynn.

Developed and built in Lynn, The Infinitely Sustainable Lynn Electric Ferry…known as TISLEF…will become the worldwide standard for electric ferries.

Lynn Harbor will become the source for Tidal Electric innovation and development.

If we, The People of Lynn, get together and present a unified front, we are golden.

The world will come to Lynn, and bring its money.

The world has always come to Lynn.

This is a truly Global community.

This time, instead of arriving with only the tattered shirt on their back, looking for opportunity, they’ll show up in private jets, dressed to the nines, waving armloads of cash.

That’s when the good stuff starts to happen for this city.

One could say The Infinitely Sustainable Lynn Electric Ferry is a Vehicle For Success.

Let’s talk.

We can make this happen.

TISLEF is the ticket to success for Lynn and this entire region.

Give it your highest of expectations and it will come!

Believe me.

It is PISSA!

Then talk it up!

Hansen Report...Coming Soon...Unstoppable Sea Level Rise...

The biggest news in the history of Sea Level Rise just hit the main stream media like a jolt of electricity.

James Hansen, Climate Provocateur Extraordinaire, predicts doom.

This is bound to generate all manner of speculative nonsense in the upcoming months.

Before you get swept up in the deluge of conflicting information, check this out.

Nobody knows what is going to happen with Sea Level Rise.

This is unprecedented in Human History.

All the science and media attention in the world still leaves us wondering and waiting.

One thing is certain.

Forget the Hansen scenario.

If Sea Level rises Two feet in fifty years we are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

This is brand new stuff.

The data is all raw.

Its meaning is unknown.

But, if we actually face thermally expanding Seas and melting ice to the tune of Two feet, every port on Earth will cease to function.

The Global economy will stagger and come to a stop.

While this is going on, coastal cities will face Sandyesque storms on a regular basis.

Imagine Sandy with The Ocean Two feet deeper.

It's time to gather our thoughts and start making the best of this situation.

Take a look here and make of it what you will.
